Despite two years of social distancing and virtual modifications, the Charter School of Wilmington (CSW) embarked on an epic year of fundraising and events to support there turn to an in-person Charterthon. Now in its 10th year, Charterthon encompasses an entire school year of awareness and fundraising for the B+ Foundation to financially support families and research for kids fighting cancer. With 112 members and 16 executive committee members, the students raised funds from their school and community through sports games, car washes, canning, selling pretzels, Five Buck Fridays, and selling Charterthon tickets. Charterthon culminates in an overnight dance marathon that in April 2022 raised $87,567.39. Aside from the thousands of dollars raised, Charter School of Wilmington demonstrated their commitment to service learning through investigating the continuing need, engaging hundreds in service, and reflecting and sharing how they are multiplying good in Delaware.
